Utilizing the updated DMERC website

Did you know the DMERC website has updated its functionality to be more user-friendly? One example of how this can benefit your practice is in dispensing of durable medical equipment (DME). Using the same/similar search within Claim History Summary on the site, you can view a beneficiary’s prior equipment history for a specific product category or HCPCS code(s). This allows you to verify easily if a patient has received the same or similar product in the last 3-5 years before you dispense a DME. In doing so you can avoid potential issues with being paid for the DME. Pictured here is the section of the manual on the DMERC site showing how to use the same/similar search.
