CGS Taking Over the Medicare DME Contract

Starting with dates of service on July 1st, 2016, CGS will take over the Medicare contract for processing durable medical equipment claims in Jurisdiction B, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and other states. This change does not effect regular, professional charges sent to Medicare, which will continue to be processed by NGS and WPS respectively depending on your state. The DME fee schedule will not change either.

CGS and the current contractor, NGS, claim they are working together to prevent claim disruptions and assure
a smooth transition. Our claim vendors have already updated their files to automatically redirect claims starting with July dates to the CGS payer ID. We will monitor those initial claims until paid to check for any irregularities in processing or payment.
